All Aboard Erie is helping the tri-state area meet the future by talking about different kinds of mass transit systems (such as local bus, intercity bus, light rail, Amtrak and high speed rail). One-third of people in Erie County use mass transit to get to school and college, work, their doctor appointments, meetings, festivals, museums, shopping and parks. When they do, people stay active in their own communities. The facts are powerful: Property values are higher, businesses and jobs are kept here, and people tend to do more of their shopping in their own neighborhood, keeping more of their money in the local economy.
It has been proven that when a city is more walkable and has better public transportation, the city grows and prospers. All Aboard Erie wants to get Erie ready for what we hope is a new era of growth and prosperity.
